about me – april dimartile

hello friends!

April here! — a product designer based in Seattle fueled by coffee, outdoor adventures, and the hunt for the perfect scone.

I'm a creative problem solver who specializes in creating connections through design; balancing user needs and business goals to create something beautiful and usable. My design solutions are driven by experimentation, insightful research, and collaboration.

I recently got married and designed our website and branding (found here) but before spent six months at Uber redesigning their map visual design and creating systems and two years designing the future of in-vehicle navigation for Google Maps Automotive. I am now seeking opportunities in product design focused on real life issues. I am most excited about creating scalable design systems and contributing to digital experiences with passionate people.

Outside of work, I love baking new treats for friends and family. I’m a sucker for the simple beauty of a well-designed cookbook and have a somewhat obsessive collection. In the summer, you can find me backpacking or sailing with my partner, enjoying an outdoor patio, dancing to disco or cheering at a Mariners game.
